Garage Door Cable Length Calculator

Use the grid below to determine your correct replacement cable length for your garage door cables (for doors using torsion springs only). 

You will need some information before beginning.

1.)   Your cable drum manufacture and part #

2.)   The distance from your floor to the centerline of your garage door spring torsion shaft.

3.)   The amount of high lift your garage door has (If applicable)

·         To determine amount of high lift you can measure from floor to center line of shaft in inches then subtract the door height in inches and subtract an additional 6 ½” for 2” track or subtract 7 ½” for 3” track your total remainder will equal your High lift amount.

                                                   or

·         Measure from the floor to the bottom of your horizontal garage door track in inches then subtract your door height and the total remainder is you high lift amount.
