Is your opener's rail pulling away from the wall, sagging at the front, or shifting every time the door runs? The header bracket is the front anchor point of your garage door opener. It fastens to the header board above the door, and the front end of the rail pins to it. When it bends, cracks, or pulls loose, the rail moves out of line, the door travel goes uneven, and the opener works harder than it should. Installation Notes

Close the door and unplug the opener. Support the front end of the rail with a ladder or block so it can't drop, then remove the pin that connects the rail to the old bracket. Remove the lag screws and take the old bracket off the header. Fasten the new bracket in the same position, centered over the door and screwed into solid framing, not just drywall. Reattach the rail with the pin, plug the opener back in, and run the door through a full cycle to check that the travel limits are still set correctly.
